In Pursuit of Honor (1995)
This feature film was set in the 1930’s during peace time. “When the cavalry is ordered to execute their horses, five renegade officers from the US Cavalry, rebel, taking 400 horses. They ride for freedom across the country pursued by their fellow officers in the US Army. Based on a true story they are five men willing to die for what they believe. Five men in pursuit of honor.” The film starred Don Johnson, Rod Steiger, Craig Sheffer and Australian actor Robert Coleby.
Tony Jablonski along with Rick Anderson were the horsemasters for this film and were contracted to supply over 300 horses. This included lead horses for actors and stunt horses.
“The Proposition” 2005
This period feature film was shot in Winton, Central Queensland with a well known cast including Guy Pearce, Ray Winston, Danny Huston, David Gulpillil, John Hurt, David Wenham and Emily Watson.
Set in the 1880s, the film opens in the middle of a frenzied gunfight between the police and a gang of outlaws. Charlie Burns (Guy Pearce) and his brother Mikey are captured by Captain Stanley (Ray Winston), together with their psychopathic brother Arthur (Danny Huston). They are wanted for a brutal crime. Stanley makes Charlie a seemingly impossible proposition in an attempt to bring an end to the cycle of bloody violence.
Tony Jablonski was the horse coordinator and coordinated the following: riding, stunt and liberty horses, stage coach and camels, Emily’s horse-drawn buckboard, wranglers and stunt riders.
